More Gabservations

  1. Chuck-E-Cheese is truly just a mini-casino for little kids and trying to get them out of there is worse than pulling a member of Gambler's Anonymous out of Atlantic City.
  2. People who think autism is just an excuse for bad parenting should be punished. My suggestion: send 'em along on a school field-trip with a classful of autistic children. Preferably unmedicated.
  3. You know you are over-the-hill if you stay up past midnight watching the PBS Documentary on Richard M. Nixon and enjoy it more than anything else on prime-time TV. (Did anyone else watch? Wasn't it fascinating!?)
  4. The only way to avoid becoming witchy before Oct. 31st is to establish a family costume deadline. Costume choices must be "locked-in" by the 15th. No minds changed at the last minute. Thank you for your cooperation.
  5. Watching the local team win the playoffs and head to the World Series can actually make the usually-boring baseball season a little more interesting. (Not as exciting as Nixon, of course. But close.)

#1 - so true. I avoid that place as much as possible. Or any arcade for that matter.

#4 - that is not cruel. It is necessary for sanity.

As usual, good observations!

I love theses!

Gab...I love you.

Such an astute observation for #1...so brilliantly said.

#4 is the most sage advice I have recieved all year. You are brilliant there, too.

Now I am going to go read your link for #2...the link made me angry...I am ready to read an get fired up.

Clearly, Denis Leary is an idiot...

I too love the Phillies. They beat the snot out of the punky Dodgers. Go Giants! (someday, in my dreams)

#4. We did the same thing, but I always caved when they thought of something cuter. Like when they wanted to all be condiments and I went to Wal-Mart at 10:30pm on the 30th looking for appropriate colored felt. Where were you when I needed a back bone?

Your Gabservations are teh best. My comments...

1. Someone gave our kids a $30 gift card to Chuck E Cheese for Christmas several years ago, and I still haven't used the card.
2. What a jackass!
3. I LOVE documentaries, but I didn't catch that one, sorry.
4. Great idea. Grace picked out her super cute & pricey costume about a month ago, and now she's talking about wearing a tinkerbell dress up costume she's had in her closest for years.
5. Can't relate. Unless it's the Phoenix Suns, I'm totally out of it when it comes to sports.

HA HA HA HA HA! The post was great! Then I saw Christie's comment. HA HA HA HA HA! Satan, casinos... Just confirming why I hate it there.

Hate. it.

by typing "go phils" in red, i can only assume it was a subliminal message to me, meant to read "go red sox"

thanks. you're a peach.

it didn't even make any sense.

I have a whole post about #4 coming up. And I want to picket the Chuck E Cheese that is going up at the major intersection in my town, like I've never wanted to picket ANY political/social issue in my life!

Got it, one of your kids can go as Checkers. (I missed that documentary--sounds good).

You are spot on regarding Chuck and Cheese.

Good idea for costumes!

You are so wise.

Unlike that other guy who is clearly suffering from some sort of mental disability himself.

I made the same comparison to Brian this weekend when we passed through Vegas. Very interesting. And if you think so too then it must be true.

Yes--I did watch the Nixon special. I am so totally unpolitical (yes I do vote)but I totally enjoyed it. I amazed myself.
