Happy Things

  1. Going to the dentist for a filling and, after minimal uncomfortable poking & prodding, being told that I don't have a cavity! The dentist is just incompetent! Or the x-ray was shadowy! Either way...no needles. No drill. No big ugly bill. I'm happy.
  2. Taking my three sons on a bike ride. Two were wearing Thomas the Tank Engine helmets and one was doing hot-rod danger stunts. They all take after their dad. But no one got hurt today. I'm happy.
  3. Sunshine. Blossoms. Forsythia. And that yellowish-spring-green that makes everything look just born and fresh. Allergies will be starting soon. But not yet. I'm happy.
  4. Taking Jake to a bowling league just for kids with special needs. Watching tough dads push wheelchairs. And teenage sisters cheer for their challenging little sibs. Smiles and high fives. Chatting with friends. I'm happy.
  5. Watching church on tv. In my comfy clothes. Pretending not to eat the traditional General Conference trail mix. Because m&m's don't have any calories, if you snitch them from your kids. Being inspired and uplifted. I'm happy.

Happy weekend! Happy Spring!

Are you kidding?! M&M's certainly DO NOT have any calories when eaten during Conference!

Congrats on the non-cavity. Was that before the m & m's?

What happy things! No cavities is certainly a reason to celebrate. M&Ms is a great way to celebrate.

I'm scared to go back to the dentist. I'm scared.

Food eaten during conference = no calories.

I'm glad there is some part of the country that is enjoying spring. Saturday Conference morning dawned with two inches of snow and a delay in conference watching as the husband had to go knock the snow off of the satellite dish. Spring never comes to Spokane.

That bowling league sounds incredible.

The dentist NEVER tells me I don't have a cavity. Lucky.

Do I know you? I probably should. I live in pennsylvania with my hubby and 3 kids, one of whom is handicapped and participates in a bowling league for special needs kids. I always indulge in M&Ms during conference, but I have to sneek mine into the church, 'cause we can't get dish. We need to be friends.

We're in Valley Forge Stake -- Broomall first ward...we go to Sproul Lanes for our bowling, bummer. I noticed you had an entry by Paige. I don't think I know Paige (although she looks familiar), but I got to her blog and her sister's blog via my childhood friend, Hillary Miles Beemish...I grew up in Walnut Creek w/ Hillary...anyway, I'll keep tabs on your blog, and maybe we can get enough bloggers to have a blogapoloza of our own on the east coast one day...

It is fun to find fellow blogger...

I have never been to the dentist without a cavity. I want dentures.

Bumper bowling with special kids...there is nothing like it. Getting one pin down is like a winning touchdown at the Superbowl!
Have you ever done Horseback riding? We did it once, they have special saddles, Rachel kept leaning over to kiss the horse!

Your dentist needs to put Laffy Taffy in his waiting room, we called it "Dental Insurance" at our office!!

Such lovely things to be happy for. I enjoyed each one of them. And, I cried as I read about the bowling. My sister has participated in Special Olympics for years. There is nothing like her excitement in being so happy to be the center of attention, a star athlete and proud to belong. She is a fierce bowler! She used to bowl every Tuesday night. I had to use bumpers to even come close to being any where near her score! :)
