My Life, Numerically Speaking

Number of autographs on Luke's blue cast--37

Days until I retire from Seminary teaching--11

Consecutive days I have skipped exercise this month--13

Number of nights spaghetti has been served for dinner in May--3

Number of children who gag when served spaghetti--1

School days remaining--22

Number of cavities filled in my mouth yesterday--3 (but it felt like a lot more)

Concerts/field days/class picnics/parties to attend--16

Pounds of our stuff the movers will pack, box and truck cross-country--16,499

Ball games remaining this season--10

Days til we move--33
Books I need to return to the library--9

Normally, I hate numbers. But it was oddly comforting to total things up mathematically tonight. I guess because numbers are just so final and unemotional and don't gag when you serve spaghetti.

Sports Illustrated always has a column with numbers kind of like this. It's one of my favorite parts of the magazine.

I had a child who gagged at a lot of food, but wanted a goldfish so bad she could hardly stand it. I told her if she ate 5 foods she didn't like, cheerfully, then I would buy her a goldfish. She did it in a week, and named the fish Yucky in honor of the foods she ate.

I had a child who gagged at a lot of food, too. Don't take it personally.

Whenever I feel out of control I make lists. Things seem manageable when they're categorized on paper, ready to be checked off.

Number of admirers: innumerable!

Glad to hear that you have movers.
I echol your mother's sentiments on lists. I like counting down and checking things off too.

Could you imagine moving 16,000 pounds with just yourself and husband?

I have told my husband in no uncertain terms that we are past the days of driving our own U-Haul.

I think I am going to try this too. Maybe life won't seem as overwhelming when its in numerical form-maybe...
If it's ok with you, I am going to give my friend Amy, the link to your blog. She is my friend that just had twin boys. She might need your inspiration.

Who doesn't like spaghetti? That's always a crowd pleaser.

Oh, and we totally have that more than three nights a month.

Wow only 33 days!! How exciting!! I used to gag at spaghetti as a kid. Only cuz my Mom made it once a week at least. Now I'm a parent I don't make it that often so my kids love it when I do.
