Big Leagues

Today was Opening Day for baseball and softball.

All four are playing this season.

Li'l Sluggers: Then and Now

Thankfully, the twinks can play on the same team. So we only have three fields, three games and three practice schedules to juggle. Four would be suicide.

Am looking forward to a killer farmer's tan and a lot of hot dogs.

I love how you call them, "the twinks". Yeah, it is a good thing they can be on the same team...it is gonna be tricky to get everybody where they need to be but you will be the cutest Mom with a farmer's tan. You are my hero.

The peeps in this house will be thrilled to see that Jake is a St. Louis Cardinal. Good job making my boys so happy! (I'm sure it was on purpose, right? You hunted high and low until you found the team and got Jake on it, right?) :-)

I remember the baseball years. They seem so fun and summery now. They seemed less fun then:

I stressed that the little kids would get kidnapped on the playground, or molested in the bathrooms while I watched the games.

I worried that we'd all die of malnutrition because we lived for weeks on hotdogs for dinner and grape bubblegum for dessert.

I knew my kid would get hit in the head, (he did) break his arm, (he did) fall out of a tree, (she did) miss the winning fly-ball (she did) or pitch a no-hitter (instead, he walked EVERY player on the other team.)

I used to do my fingernails and read magazines in a camp chair. The bleachers didn't have backs, and I didn't like to sit close enough to the other parents to hear them gripe about my kid's errors.

Looking back it seems like one of the best seasons of life. Have fun, and I hope your team wins!

I love baseball season, and dinner from the snack shack (yea, I'm ready for someone else to cook)

The cheeks on those "twinks" are to die for.

That chunky babies picture is precious. Adorable.

I love Oma's comment. I need comments like those to keep me enjoying the moments.

:) We are on the border of DE/MD/PA, about 45 minutes from Philly, Lancaster or Baltimore... If you're ever up for a field trip let me know! We are going to do Valley Forge this week, I have a 5th grader and the teacher in me screams "Don't just read it, see it!!!" I'm hoping it is springy and lovely and blooming. We'll take our tissues and antihistamines...

Having kids in different sports is such a challenge! We have one in t-ball, one in soccer and one doing track and field. You're smart for doing all three in one sport! Good luck and enjoy the dogs.

Nothing says "I am a mom" like a farmer's tan. I am always proud of mine, because at my age, I would rather have the tan lines on my body say mom than hoochie.
