And Isn't It Ironic?

...that the day after you take your vow of poverty and decide to walk on the penurious side of life, you are stopped by a small-town traffic cop who claims you were driving just a teensy bit over the 25 mph speed limit and that he is now giving you a $108 speeding ticket?

And, now, since the money you so virtuously saved--mainly by avoiding your weekly Target trip-- is going to the municipal government, you might as well forget the cute Father's Day gift idea (a silver piggy bank for Hubby...into which you were planning to deposit all your frugal savings. Get it? Money in the Bank?!)

And you might as well just give up and get your husband what he REALLY wants for Father's Day.

Which is, of course, for you to have a pair of cute peep-toe pumps and a rockin' pedicure to go with them.

Happy Dad's Day, Hun! Glad you have a sense of humor! (Wish the traffic cops did...)

A little too ironic, I really do think. It's like rain on your wedding day!

Just get him the iphone.

What hubby DOESN'T want their wife to have cute peep toe pumps? And seriously...he can't have those toes UNpedicured! That would just be wrong! :0)

I love that song by Alanis Morissette...it's a free ride, when you've already paid...it's the good advice that you just didn't take...and who would have that it figures!
Let's hope for that last part of this verse: Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face
SO IS LIFE!
Oh, and sorry...that sucks.

Yeah, I want to see a picture of these cute shoes and rockin' pedicure.

A couple years ago as I was driving to the mall to buy Christmas presents, (OK, some for myself too) I got a ticket for $300. You'd think I would have just stopped the shopping spree there. No. I kept on spending money. I was depressed but I did it anyway.

So funny... I was out Father's Day shopping and scored a new pair of shoes and four new shirts (I was at Ross).

The gift for Dan I had in hand as I was waiting to check out got placed back on the shelf... I'm terrible.

Husbands just want their wives to be happy! Whatever it takes, I say.

I think you're totally right: he was dying for the pumps.

Father's Day presents always stump me, yours was a great idea. Maybe you can give him the ticket with a note saying, all that saving means I've paid for this myself...even if its not true!

It all depends on HOW you present those pumps...

I'm sorry...I would have so totally turned around and self-medicated with some shopping...glad you did.

Yes, ironic indeed.

I am sure he enjoyed seeing the peep-toe pumps and pedi. ;)
