If so...you are probably living in the past. The last new Seinfeld episode aired 10 years ago this month!
I don't know why this fact makes me feel older than my fast-approaching 20 year reunion.
Maybe because Brad and I started watching Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and George during our poor student/newlywed days. The Fab Four gave us something funny (and free!) to look forward to each Thursday night. They became our friends, and over the years, have been well-represented and oft-quoted at all extended family gatherings.
Seinfeld & Co. was the last cast of characters I really cared about. Soon after it went off the air, we became parents and our tv viewing habits changed dramatically. Sure, now I enjoy Top Chef and Dancing with the Stars, but until Padma says, "No soup for you!" or Edyta dances with Elaine's spastic kick, they will always pale in comparison.
Do you miss them too? What's your favorite episode?

"Not that there's anything wrong with that."
I'll stop now
Ok, now I know for sure that we must meet at IKEA for lunch. I STILL laugh outloud when I happen on a late night rerun of seinfeld. My husband and I joke about celebrating festivus, and I beg him to carry a "european carry all" ala Jerry's purse. The Puffy shirt, the low talker, man hands, "the bet", the poisoned wedding invitations, "if this vans a'rockin', don't come a'knockin", George's flirtation with the photo girl (ala Kramer's pictures), all of them make me roll on the floor laughing. I could go on and on. There was just an article I read about whether Jerry & co were true trailblazers or nothings. I wish I could say trailblazers, but nothing that has come along since can compare (although the Office and 30 Rock do occasionally make me laugh almost as hard). Here's to Jerry. Long live the TV show about nothing.
"GET OUT" Accompanied by a huge push is a fav around here...
The soup nazi and Elaine's dancing were my favorites too!
i'd like to see a post featuring you with kramer's hairdo, washing lettuce in the shower.
please?
I still quote Seinfeld weekly. There's an episode for every situation in life.
I miss them, too. They're like good friends who moved, and don't have a blog.
We quote them all the time. One of my favorites is when George got lined up with the girl who was bald.
The soup nazi is a classic and I tried for years to master Elaine's dancing. I LOVED that show. No sitcom could ever come close to that. Ever.
Crystal is so right. I haven't seen it in years, but I was very into it when it went off the air. Just the other day, I had George Costansa quoted to me from 3 different sources, including our neurologist. That's staying power.
I love the episode where Kramer gets the old Mike Douglas set.
My favorite is when Elaine finds out that Putty is a Christian, steals his Jesus fish, and she asks if it bothers him that she's not religious. He says, "No, cause I'm not the one going to hell."
CLASSIC television. Nothing since has even come close. And has it really been ten years? Wow.
My 20 year High School Reunion is this year, too...Class of '88 is great! I can't believe I said that...
My favorite part of this post is what you said about Padma and Edyta. You are so fun to read!
I agree with Annemarie, I have thought of the, "I can't spare a square" every time I walk into a stall and the TP supply is low.
Putty had to be my fav for a little bit, "ya, thats right"
Or Shrinkage....won't say more on that...
or Elaine's dance! LOOOOOVE that show!
We watch the re-runs every night. They are classic. Gotta love Seinfeld!
That sounds just like my family. Have you tried the Office? I absolutely love it! I was so sad when Seinfeld was over but the Office has helped fill the void.
I do miss this! And I love that I haven't even seen every episodes, so there's always something to look forward to.
My favorite is probably the one involving the bread and the fishing pole. I also think that was the same one with Kramer and the horse cart. Ahhh....so funny.
Man hands.
I can't believe it has been twenty years.
Ditto the man hands. We have YW in our ward with them, Byron & I can't stop staring. Not that there's anything wrong with that....
I was in a rather strange hospital lately. The only thing that made me really laugh is that my roommate's name was "Lainy" I could write one final episode about that.
Oh my husband is constantly telling me what was 20 years ago.. always making me feel so old. He will say things like the 80's will be to our children what the 50's were to us!!!! (Thanks honey) It is amazing where time goes, isn't it?
I know you don't know me but I will tell you one of my many favorites... (how do you pick just one?) I love the one where Elaine is talking about men's "stuff" and says' "I don't know how you guys walk around with those things!" So true, Elaine...So true!
First of all, I'm a lurker who is commenting because you said the magic word: Seinfeld. How can I resist? And with an abundance of fodder from a genius of a show, I will narrow this down to one. As an overworked and underpaid high school English teacher, I find myself wanting to shout "Serenity Now! Serenity Now!" from time to time.
