Is it Summer Yet?

Although the kids still have two weeks of school, no one's heart is really in it. After a long, fickle, spring-like May, we are ready for June to bring on the heat and relaxing summer days.

There's a lot to look forward to this summer--Jake's first sleep-away camp, a month-long trek Out West, day trips to the beach, and plenty of hours poolside.

But before all the fun, we have to endure the END OF THE YEAR drama. You moms know what I'm talking about--field trips, field days, class picnics, spring concert, young author festival, art show, fun fair, soccer champs, etc. etc. etc. This time of year is crazier than Christmas--volunteering at all the events, collecting money for class gifts, baking for the bake sale...

...the kids don't realize that I'm even more excited than they are for school to let out! (Except when I read last year's whiny summer posts and remember that summer isn't always a day at the beach, either.)

In the meantime...

... my peonies are blooming!

...the Memorial Day picnic was a success!

...field day didn't get rained out!

...we've been dining alfresco!

...we caught two pets in our yard!

Summer fun? Bring it on!

Let's hear it for summer!

-your peonies are gorgeous! I think I have some blooming soon...hopefully...but I love the glimpse of yours.

-love your outdoor table set. What a great backyard!

-looking forward to hearing about your month-long trek out west. Are y'all driving? (Just wondering, since we've wanted to do that but haven't yet...)

I'm more than just a little jealous of your peonies. In my dreams...

This post is why I haven't posted much in a while. CRAZINESS!!! Parties all day today. The kids have two more days next week and then I can start sleeping in.

I completely agree -- May surpasses December in events and busyness. Here's another mom looking forward to summertime.

Love the peonies!

Oh...I completely understand! Thankfully my two weeks of torture are officially over today! Today is our last day of school here. Summer will then officially begin! Though we don't have all the fun things planned that you do!

Wow! Such beautiful peonies! We are doing okay with roses but are currently in between blooms! If you are bored and have no plans one day when you are out west, here's my address 9048 E. Plana Ave, Mesa phone 480-986-2111, come see me!

I hear you! Summer break is here already and I didn't think I was going to survive the last few weeks of school.

But, keeping everybody happy and occupied is stressing me out a bit now...and all those little eyes looking at me as I try to blog...

Those pictures are fabulous! That straberry salad looks divine and your kids look scrumptious, too :)

The flowers look so beautiful, if I may mention.

Your peonies are gorgeous!

I am not a sun worshiper at all and as such usually dread Summer. But, it is winter in Lima right now and dreary and cold and at least 1 of us has been sick for the last 3 weeks. Only 23 days until we'll be in your hemisphere and enjoying the heat and sunshine of DC and UT. I cannot wait!!!

Your kids and yard could be right out of a Pottery Barn catalog. Even the frogs are cute! We're looking forward to your westward trek!
