If you were to fly across the country to go with me on a girls' trip to the Big Apple, I would probably clean my house for you.
I might even make you dinner. Cold lemon chicken, crusty Italian bread, a crisp spinach salad and little cakes for dessert.
If you were particularly adorable, there would even be a small welcome gift at your plate.

And...maybe, if I really felt happy-crazy, I would go all out and dress up to match the table.
BUT you would only get the song and dance number (with top hat and "cane") if I really really loved you!

Cold Lemon Chicken with Cucumber Sauce
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 cup water
1 bay leaf
1 clove garlic, peeled & cut in half
1/2 cup lemon juice
3 whole chicken breasts, skinned, boned & halved
In a large saucepan, combine the first five ingredients. Bring to a boil and add chicken. Cover and poach over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes, until done in center of breasts. Remove chicken from broth, cover and refrigerate to cool thoroughly.
Sauce:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
4 tsp. finely chopped cucumber, peeled and seeded
2 tsp. grated lemon rind
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper
Mix and dollop over chilled chicken. Top each with a lemon or cucumber slice and a sprinkle of paprika.

You're the best! I love it. That is such a fun party.
PS: The Webkinz in Grace's picture are both hers and Jane's purchased with their own funds. Just in case I look like I'm spoiling them. 'Cause believe me, I'm not! I'm so over Webkinz. That's all they think about! :-)

Your house looks great. I love your table. I also love the matching outfit.
Love your style! Looks like the entertainment went down well.
I was just going to ask for this... thanks!
I'm glad the friend that watched my son for a week when we went to Maui doesn't read this blog. I think I brought her home some chocolate covered macademia nuts.
Seriously. But I did watch her son for a week a few months later.
Oh, that chicken sounds fab. And it doesn't look too hard either which is a big requirement for me. And your table settings? SO CUTE! Don't ever come to my house to eat because you will laugh at what I serve you on! I have nothing cute.
I now have a complex. Thank you very much.
Oh man! What if I just drove down for a bit? LOVELY party!
