Special Request

Each of my kids has their own personal lullaby. I sing it to them every night without fail.

Jake's is Mighty Like a Rose . Em's is Emily, of course. Luke's is Baby's Boat and Sam always wants I am a Child of God.

Tonight I promised Jake two lullabies if he beat me up to his room. (He did.)

His first request was the usual...and after much thought, he wanted this for his second choice:

Sweet dreams!

Gabi! First of all, Baby's Boat is a long time favorite of mine. My mom used to sing it to me and I've sung it to all of my wee ones. LOVE that one. (Once when I was sick and Sam was in preschool, he came in and sang it to me, complete with face tickling. I love that memory.) I digress....

And the Pina Colada song! You are one cool mom. Nothing like a song about personal ads and making love at midnight to put the little guys to sleep :).

You know the words to that song?!

No...I don't know the words!

Except the "If You Like Pina Colada part"...which is why I had to look it up on youTube!

I think he must've heard it on the schoolbus.

At least the song has a monogamous message?!

CUTE!

Sirri's song is: Baby Mine

Connor: Alice the Camel and When Daddy Comes Home (Though he's too been asking for Baby Mine lately. )

Meg: Good Night Sweetheart

That is so cute. I would have asked the same thing Jessica did. I would have been very impressed. :)

That provided me a great laugh this morning. As soon as I clicked on that, my dh on the other side of the room, started singing it word for word.

I don't think that song has a good message, or is it just me? I mean, they're both looking to cheat on each other - they just happen to do it WITH EACH OTHER. I think you must sing him only primary songs from here on out, lest he end up trying to have an affair with his own wife someday.

That is pretty funny! One of the primary kids in my friends class wanted to sing, "I like Big Butts and I cannot Lie..." I am fairly certian that the child got it off of one of the Special Features of the Shrek DVD...the mom was mortified.

I didn't know about that cool church song website...that is great!

Now, I have that, "If you like Pina Coladas" song stuck in my head :)

I love it. The video was darling. I sing my children all kinds of unconventional lullabies, because one of my favorite memories of my father was of him playing the guitar and singing me Me and Bobby Mcgee.
Of course I would be thrilled if you copied my compilation. I would be flattered because I love your blog and your beautiful writing.
