My Holiday Read
I just finished reading Atonement by Ian McEwan and don't even have the right words to gush. Just know that I loved it from cover to cover. It was the perfect mix of all my favorite literary ingredients: wartorn Europe, star-crossed lovers, countryside English manors, precocious children, and all the requisite twist, turns and tears. I would love to hear from others who've read this. Did it break your heart, too?

I haven't read it yet, but have been trying to work up the nerve to read it for about a year now. Maybe you've pushed me over the edge.
Loved it! So much tragedy, so well written, and I may even try to see the movie!
I really loved this one, too. Such exquisite writing & a fantastic premise of misunderstandings that have devastating ripple effects. Some of his lines still stay with me, a couple of years later.
Don't you love cover-to-cover reads?
I just read the reviews and first chapter online. I hope my library is open tomorrow. I'm in need of a truly stunning read right now.
This is on my list. I can't see the movie. WAH! So, I'm going to read it instead. Can't wait.
So do I read Pilcher first or this? Probably Pilcher, as the library will have a huge waiting list I'm sure. I just got the Thirteenth tale and have that one waiting in line. You are my book source!
