Hurricane Halloween

GNN--November 1, 2007: Hurricane Halloween made landfall yesterday leaving in its wake a trail of trash, tears and tantrums. As far as the eye can see devastation and destruction abound.

Survivors are stunned.

In the calm before the storm, parents tried to prepare by carving up garden vegetables...

hoping their children could use them for shelter.

Some people scrambled to put on as many clothes as they could fit upon their little bodies...

others geared up for battle,

while others hoped a little magic would work!

One clown thought the whole thing was a big joke.

But no survivor will ever be the same again. Hurricane Halloween has changed their lives forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Oh, just too cute. Where in the crap did you get such big pumpkins? Were you one of those good moms that took your darlings to the pumpkin patch and paid $100 for huge, heavy pumpkins? Cause I'm totally NOT one of those moms. I ignored the pumpkin patch this year and my reward was not having to scrape out one single pumpkin.

Love the costumes though. Way cute.

That was so fun to read...what a great recap. The hurricane path continued on up the east coast and hit us hard, too. We're still recovering and continue to find debris and detritus.

Perfect description...did your house look like a hurricane had hit it when you woke up this morning? Mine did. (I could not face cleaning mine before bed...I grabbed some popcorn and headed straight for my TiVo and the Biggest Loser--which is what I felt like when I looked at my house this a.m.)

I love the idea of Halloween wrecking hurricane proportions havoc. We are in the wake of the storm here too. Way too many sticky hands, wrappers, tears and "no fairs."

We just had a few little flurries, nothing like your hurricane. I'm glad you survived with only a few minor mishaps.

Your oldest boy (Shakey) looks like he was having a little too much fun. I hope you were able to scrape him off the ceiling this morning.

Clever recap. That one is going to be awesome in the scrapbook.

I can too tell who's looking and lurking. At least city, state, and web browser/address. if it's linked to a business that comes up.

And your kids are adorable. Great Hermione especially!

You are so cute! I love the costumes. Halloween is just too fun. And I LOVE the pumpkin head. We ran out of time for carving this year and I have some very bitter children as a result.

Adorable photos. We're reeling from Halloween still here, too. Wrappers everywhere because Mommy's too tired to fight and I'm eating as many as they are. Yikes!

How did a hurricane hit the East Coast and the West Coast at the same time? We felt the same thing....
