A Great Weekend!

Yesterday, my sweet hubby watched the kids all day so I could meet my sis-in-law, Christie and some of her friends in NYC. Stie is such a fun and welcoming person. I can honestly say we would be great friends, even if she hadn't married my little brother. I also got to meet one of my internet buddies, Annie, whose blog is one of my favorites. Turns out, she is even better in person. All the ladies were so nice and very welcoming. I love making new friends!!

I really was in the Big Apple for only a few hours...but had fun riding in one of these bike rickshaws...

...and LOVED seeing this play! If you haven't heard of The Drowsy Chaperone, don't feel bad...I hadn't either. However, if you get the chance to see it, GO! It is a great play-within-a-play. Singing, tapdancing, rollerskating, wacky humor, clever staging, great costumes. I just wanted to watch the whole thing all over again as soon as the curtain went down. I love Broadway!!

I hopped on the train as soon as it was over so I could get back home for the other great part of my weekend. General Conference...a meeting our church holds twice a year and broadcasts throughout the world. It's filled with inspiring messages from our wonderful leaders and, thanks to TiVo and the satellite dish, I watched every minute in the comfort of my own pj's, on the couch, with a big bowl of this for company! I love General Conference!!

And, whenever the kids got a chance, they were outside...playing in our newly fallen leaves. Although it still feels like summer, it is starting to look like autumn.

A great weekend was had by all!

Oh, what fun! I was sad I couldn't go but traveling all the way across the country for just a weekend seemed a little much. The picture of the two of you is great!

I love that last picture. So so CUTE!!! How fun to be able to zip up to NYC for a few hours. I love Broadway, too. What a joy!!!

Wasn't conference just GREAT!?! I love the magic of Tivo. I've already watched two talks again. There was just so much to get! I just feel like I want to sup every bit of inspiration out of it. What a great weekend!

It WAS such a great weekend. I totally love that you came and were a part of our little crowd. Made it so much more fun! You are one adventurous chick on your rickshaw rides and strolls through Central Park. Love that about you! And wasn't the play just the best? I seriously loved it, too. It was so great to see you. Love you tons!

Hi! I found your blog through another blog that I randomly happened on one day last month (My favorite things) and today when I read her blog about the trip to NYC, I realized that I know you! My name is Jenifer and I used to work with Brad at Paria Group. Just thought I'd say hello and tell you that your blog is hillarious. I'm bookmarking the page. :)

How fun! I am sooo envious. Any time away from kiddos with friends (and fam) is fun. And a show on top of that? Just icing on the cake.
The pics of your kids are super cute too. Enjoy those seasons (we don't have those here).
