I figured for the first year, I'd just be buried in packing peanuts and painting projects. I was actually kind of worried that I'd be bored and lonely.
Already, though, I feel like I am right back in the deep end. Today I started with a new responsibility at church and a big commitment at the kids' school. Soccer is three times a week, art class every Wednesday, piano lessons, orthodontist appointments, activity days, Scouts and...don't forget!...the laundry pile isn't going anywhere but up.
I guess at this stage of life, there isn't much time for lying in the sand. It's all about keeping my head above water.

Every time I think I have a quiet week (i.e. this week) I end up with something every night and I get nothing done at home. I want a clean house again someday. Ooh and six hours of sleep in a row. That would be bliss.
Maybe a ship, a couple of dolphins or better yet, Prince Eric will come to your rescue. You do know the best spas are in AZ right? It may be time to check one out!
Ditto.
And yet, Grace has taken to asking me what I do all day.
Seriously. Life just keeps getting busier. My kids are in school all day. Why don't I have more free time?
What's your new calling, by the way?
At least you look like a graceful mermaid doing it. I look more like Ursula! (And sometimes act like her too!)
I'm excited to hear about your new calling and the big responsibility at the school. I bet Arizona is so happy to have you!
I giggled when I heard your calling. I told you, they would be using your skills SOON! What is the big responsibility at school? Can't wait to hear about it.
some people would welcome the opportunity to keep the swimsuit tucked away a bit longer.
the trick is "just say no." reaganisms at their best.
Don't tell me that! ;)
Zach and I always joke that if we get too heavy of a calling, we'll just move.
Just so happens he was Elder's quorum president. :)
I'm so glad to hear that. Just lately, I've been thinking that I needed to move just to get a break from life - a new house means true cleanliness & beautiful organization doesn't it? I'm happy (yet sad for you) that you're back into every day life. We're all there too & it's fun to be in something together.
I love you, Gabi...and I feel for you, too. I always wonder why I don't get more done with, "just one child at home." as everyone keeps reminding me. I like how you described the laundy pile not going anywhere but up. You say things so perfectly.
So, do tell us the new church calling. I wanna be your, "gospel groupie" heh, heh, heh...LOVE YOU!
At least you are graceful...I dogpaddle to stay afloat.
You can run, but you can't hide! Your light is too bright.
I bet you look like Ariel from all of that swimming. I'm still waiting for motherhood to get easier...
