Spring Break--Day Two: An Educational Trip into Philly. The kids were good tourists and enjoyed a taste of history.
I'm not kidding myself, though. I know what rings their bell.
And, would you prefer a trip to the Mint (where, apparently, they are not making coins due to the recession and the fact that casinos use tickets these days) ...
...or a mint shake at Franklin Square?
Sam was the only one to accidentally whack someone with his club. Unfortunately, she was not a member of this family. Oops.
Still, we had a lot of traditional Philly brotherly and sisterly love.
Monday's destination: Gettysburg.
Thank goodness our Spring Break was cut short to make up snow days.
I'm not sure how much more love I can handle.

That looks like a cute mini golf course! You're making some great memories during Spring Break. What fun.
This looks so fun. I've never been to Philadelphia. I have been to Gettysburg - and I loved it. It feels like holy ground to me.
You are so, so clever, Gabi.
That mini golf course is adorable. It has to be the nicest one I have ever seen.
I learned from this post, too. I didn't know about the Mint not making coins.
You are an awesome teacher. I wish I was in your class.
We did the mint tour a few weeks ago and they were making pennies. Were you as disappointed as we were? It had potential to be so cool!!!
Philly is truly one of our families favorite places to go... There are some cool things to see.
You are amazing. I believe I have already said it, but it doesn't change the truth. I love Philly, but haven't done it with my kids. I guess I did hang out at all those destinations by myself with a 3 month old baby, but as it was my third, it hardly counted.
But, let me tell you what happens when you take a baby with all her Texas finery (read: BIG bows) to a place like Philadelphia. Talk about ATTENTION!!! People on the East coast had never seen such a thing.
Look at that beautiful weather!! The mini golf looks like a lot of fun! What a fun Mom!
I hope you are soaking up these trips (I know you are)-- to me, that would be the hardest thing about moving!
You are so clever.
My daughter fainted when we saw the liberty bell. We like to tell her she cracked it.
Mmm mint shakes.
