Dear President Obama,
Do we really need to do this whole time change thingie?
You may think the Republicans are stubborn, but just try convincing two four-year-olds to climb under the covers in broad daylight. (Tax break for room darkening shades perhaps?) And, just so you know, it's gonna take a whole new kind of stimulus to get me outta bed at 5:00 AM this week.

I hear ya. I am still dealing with boys getting out of bed right now. GRRRR.....
I guess it's because I don't have kids, but I looooooooove Daylight Saving. I love the light. I am so, so, so looking forward to a lovely spring and summer with late evening walks while the sun is still out. Plus barbecues, camping and other summery things. So maybe it's not so much the sunlight as the things I can do when it is sunny for longer.
My husband and I had this exact conversation last night. Why do we even do it???
This always messes up my ingant/toddler's sleep schedule. The internal clock pays no heed to the hour change. And it messes me up because I'm wondering why she's not tired at 8:00.
5:00 am?!? Yikes! I think I would need some sort of emergency siren to wake me up that early. Good luck!
I feel your pain. This would have been a major blog rant back in the day. But now, kids are just a blurry memory of giggles, laughter and fun by the minute (did I mention my memory fades in and out now) and I love day-light savings time!
If Obama is actually at home coping with the early mornings and sunny late evenings, he would be on your side for sure. Or at least Michelle would be.
Brilliant, Gabi. Everything you write is positively brilliant.
It is only one teensy weensy little hour but why do I feel like a Mack truck hit me this morning?
skip and i just had this conversation, except sort of in reverse. we can't figure out where the confusion comes in. and we get a kick out of people who spend the first week answering the question "what time is it?" by saying, "well, it's 7:00, but REALLY it's 6:00." i mean, what IS the REAL time? it's ridiculous. because in essence, you're getting the same amount of sleep... because your clock "SAYS" you went to bed at 7:00, but the REAL TIME was 6:00, so you didn't miss any sleep.
although truth be told... my kids are moving far more slowly this morning.
Khandrea cracks me up, as always.
My own early risers were DRAGGING this morning. McKay nearly chewed everyone's head off. If I wasn't so annoyed by his grouchiness, I would have found it kind of funny.
Yeah Gabi. You tell it to him straight.
this morning was brutal. enough said.
What the crud? You get up at 6am every morning?
I'm shutting up about cracker crumbs. Having kids without a school bus to catch is nice. We roll out of bed around 8am.
I'm with you. It's always a painful adjustment. What's the point really?
I always say wearing flip-flops year round is my favorite part of living in Arizona.
NO DAYLIGHT SAVINGS is FOR SURE my second favorite thing.
I'm still reeling and a tad bitter too.
