Don't forget to put your shoes out tonight...
It's St. Nicholas Day tomorrow...our family's favorite way to kick off the season.

I have fond and scary memories of that from my childhood when we lived in Germany! I think it's neat you all continue a fun tradition!

What a great idea! I have heard of it but never knew anyone who did it. Love it, I am all about Family Traditions!!!

I gave Whit her wooden shoes yesterday so she could put the out for Jason and herself...always fun to pass on the tradition to grown kids.

I love this time of year. Everyone shares all their great traditions. I might have to steal this one of yours (I'm already stealing Annemarie's ornament tradition now I can combine the two). My kids are still little enough that when they are older I can pretend we were doing it all along.

How fun! Did you do this growing up?

my mother used to do this and we all made fun of her because she is west indian.

now as an adult, i get it. it's called "exposing your children to multi-culturalism".

i better call her to apologize.

I love to hear of traditions floating down to a new generation! I still remember the little red ked we put out for your 1st St. Nicholas Day celebration. I even let you lick the candy cane, although you were only 5 months old. It's never to early to introduce candy.

I feel totally ripped off. My dad served his mission in Holland and never told us about this Christmas kick-off.

I need to get in on this.
