Dot Com Mom

I would like to thank my sweet husband and all the kind people at Dell Support for bringing my li'l turbo sidekick back from the brink.  It was touch and go for awhile, but I am happy to report that all docs, tunes and pix are safe.  A few snarls still to work out.  I'm learning to be patient.

Living a few days without my kitchen counter cutie opened my eyes to the fact that I am completely computer-dependent.

What did moms do before the Internet?

Just today I looked up pink eye at WebMD,  found a cool mnemonic to help Jake with long division here, and made a delicious fruit salad thanks to cooks.com.

Not too long ago, I thought computers were just for geeks.  Now I can't imagine a day without the world at my fingertips.  A few years ago, I didn't know a thing about the worldwide web.  These days I have to be careful not to get all tangled up in it.

Right there with you. I just looked up the recipe for Homemade Kids Slime.
In Sept my HP laptop had to be sent to Houston, TX in the middle of Hurricane Ike. You would have thought I had a family member stuck in the storm.
Thanks goodness for the library.
So enjoy reading your blog.

Amen sister, AMEN. I took my laptop on my little vacation but didn't open it once. Imagine that?? It was soooooo wonderful to be "out of touch" for a week. Who knew?

I hear ya. We never would have found our kiddos if it wasn't for the internet! How would I have found Jilma (the amazing, wonderful attorney) without the computer?!?! Seriously, it would have been impossible.

Plus, the American volunteers at their orphanges update their facebook pages about once a month and email us pictures of them when they can, so that's just about the greatest thing ever!

AND... my fabulous sis-in-law (that's YOU) has an awesome blog that I check every day. The Gab Blog is a daily must! :)

A year ago I learned how to e-mail. Now I'm a computer junkie. You're the bomb.com!

How easily we all become "slaves" to technology! I even remember fighting not to learn the computer! But it has openned quite a world to us all!

People who long for the good old days don't have a computer! I don't see it as a time-waster any more than reading a book, or writing a letter. I think my computer has taught me more stuff than my set of encyclopedias ever did! I'm glad your little gabtop is recovering.

I agree with every single word of this post. I am afriad I am addicted...to blogging especially...and I don't know quite what to do about it...of if I can bring myself to do something about it. I used to be roadkill on the information super highway. I didn't even learn to e-mail until 2 years ago...and now look. I need rehab but I am in denial.

I was addicted to the computer BEFORE I started blogging. Now, I pretend I have a real excuse for it. Glad you're back in business!

I know. I'd rather have my TV taken away than my computer.

I'm with Melissa. Besides, we can watch t.v. shows on our computer.

Brilliant!

I don't know how the internet or how computers work but I thank the brains that figured it all out for me.
