Trading Spaces

Project "BIG BOY" is finally complete.

The cribs are gone & the bunk beds have arrived.

(Anyone who has met the Twinkies realizes the wisdom in keeping both bunks floorbound for now...)

The entire process took a long time because the boys needed the big bedroom, formerly occupied by Princess Em.

Thus a whole lotta furniture hefting, closet cleaning, garbage dumping and picture hanging.

Emmie was a good sport about moving into a smaller room.

The deal was sweetened by all-new, custom-made bedding & window treatments.

Designed and stitched with love by Nana!

Em adores her new room and takes great pride in making her beautiful bed every morning.

Poor Jake got nothin'!

But he cleaned his room...so I'm taking his picture because a clean room is a terrible thing to waste.

Cute bedding! And a clean room indeed should be documented.

SO Cute! Love those bunk beds. We have bunk beds but they are stacked. Needless to say that my youngest learned how to climb a ladder before he was one year old. We should have been smart like you guys.

What is better than a grandma who sews? I'm getting ready to post my sweet grandma sewing treasures.

Em's bedding is adorable!! Love it all! Your house is an inspiration, is everything you do spectacular? Could you show just a tiny little bit of imperfection? I'm not worthy.

Everything looks fabulous!

Great job to Em for not being upset to move to a smaller room. I love her new bedding!

And, will you tell Jake that I said his room looks SUPER!?

Such cute quilts! Are they staying in their big boy beds like good little children? My daughter refuses to stay in hers. It drives me crazy!

It looks like Jake's walls are BLACK! How cool is that!?!

Your blog is fun to read and I loved your interview with Jenibelle.

Given that I loathe decorating (but love the results) I think that is a huge accomplishment. Where did you get their beds? They're red, right? I need one to match the one we had custom made in Utah.

Can Nana come live with me and make custom bedding too...or maybe just teach me how? So cute, cute, cute!

I love the material for your daughter's bed-so cute! I was looking at a Pottery Barn duvet cover (and drooling over it) that looks similar

gabi, it's time to train your daughter. when you break out the camera, she needs to quickly change into something that coordinates with the scenery. orange shirt on pink bed... no. all wrong. it doesn't showcase nana's work properly!

Cute, Cute rooms! It feels so good to know that your kids have clean rooms, even if it only lasts a day or less.

I love all those kiddie rooms. I'm so proud that you have finally put Luke and Sam in big kid beds. Now they can make their own breakfast (as usual) without having to ask for help to get out of bed first!

Your kids' rooms look like a POTTERY BARN MAGAZINE!!! So unfair. My kids' rooms look like footage of Hurricane Katrina.

All 3 rooms look very nice... You did such a good job on putting them together.

Everything looks awesome! Excellent work!

I don't think my kids would even recognize their rooms if they were clean.
