Hot off the Grill

We have been making pizzas on the grill a lot this season. It's fast. It's easy. It's cheap. And everybody loves it. {Thanks to my sister, Heidi, for sharing her favorite dough recipe!}

Dissolve 1 Tbsp. dry yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and let stand for 10 minutes. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp. salt, 2 Tbsp. olive oil, 2 Tbsp. honey and 3/4 cup cold water. Add yeast mixture and knead for 5 minutes...adding more flour if needed. Form into a ball and place in oiled boil. Cover and let rise about an hour. (Sometimes I skip the rising time.)

Divide dough into 4 balls. Shape into flat rounds. Brush with olive oil. Place on hot grill. Cook for 5 minutes.

Then, flip over and let cook another 2 or 3 minutes. Top with favorite sauce, cheese and toppings. Close lid and cook until cheese melts.
Enjoy!

Everything tastes better outside!

Thank you SO much! We have houseguests coming on Saturday for a week and we will definitely do this. Anything not to have to turn on the oven inside!

Hey! What a great idea! I would TOTALLY do that if my husband didn't come home with Pizza from our new pizza store all of the time. :) As for the latest and greatest cool air activities here in AZ.. I have no idea.. You won't find us out of our pool! :)

That recipe looks a lot like the one I use (Ina Garten's) so of course that means I am cool.

Seriously, pizza tastes so much better off of the grill.

I have missed so much great blogging! The pizzas look amazing - am totally trying them if I ever get home.

Loved Opa's interview.

Laughed at your beach/classroom post.

And LAUGHED OUT LOUD at your reunion shopping conversation.
