Weekend Update

Kids are always adorable and very ready for Christmas!
The boys have played non-stop with the toy train St. Nicholas left at the bottom of our tree. It is so cute to see them playing that we try to ignore the very annoying robotic Christmas music, bells and whistle sound effects.

Jake and Emily started basketball this week. In a strange twist of events, Jake's coach was "escorted" off the court by police officers...exciting! Em is only one of a few girls on her team and scored several buckets. Go Squeege!

Brad and I attended three Christmas parties on Friday night. One at the home of the Stake President (church leader), one at a country club for Brad's work and one across the cul-de-sac for the annual neighborhood bash.

Needless to say, it was an evening of contrasts. One party consisted of people wearing cheery Christmas sweaters, drinking ice water and discussing Mitt Romney's speech. Another was like the Market Research Academy Awards with people wearing as little as possible and drinking heavily. And the third was somewhere in between the two extremes.

My camera battery seems to be completely dead...so I didn't get any shots of the two of us in our holiday finery. But this shot from a few years back is pretty close...

We looked a little better on Friday...but you get the general idea.

Oh, you crack me up! Totally laughed out loud! Aren't Christmas parties fun? We had 2 last night and just went to one. You're ambitious.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics of your adorable kids. Emily is so stinkin' cute I can't stand it. Seriously, the hair, the dress... Mmmm good!

Oh, and by the way, thanks for bringing up the pain of Brad and Jen. I'm still not over the divorce. May he burn in... Well, you know. Maybe I should get a life.

This made me laugh, thanks. I had to share it with my husband. Your kids look adorable in their matching attire. Did you make the neck tie? I'm impressed. I've always thought about setting a train up around the tree but never had. Great pictures.

Way cute pics. Sunday photos are great as long as kids are in a pleasant mood. We had some unpleasantness here today but I think we got some good ones. Yippee.

I love the train! Nathan had a train around his tree growing up and I really think we need to have Santa get us one too one of these years.

Love the descriptions of the three parties. I can relate too. Fortunately though Nathan does not have a holiday party at work this year so we don't have to put on our fake party faces for that.

Oh, and I would love to hear details about the cop escorting the coach off the floor! What happened there?

Was the escort in front of his kid? I hope not.

Love the photo collage. The yellow and blue and white are so striking.

Did you have to do outfit changes in the car? What skimpy number did you wear?

Those kids are so cute they clearly came from those gorgeous parents.

FABULOUS summary. Love the curly blonde haired girl at the beginning, and how exciting about that coach...details!?, and when did you cut your hair, because it was gorgeous long.

The photo collage is so cute!! And I love the train. You and Brad look so happy there, too. I liked his hair short.

Yes, I've always loved that photo of you and Brad. Such a good likeness.

And what the eff is the deal with the coach? Details, please!

Great pictures! Love the sweet outfits and so jealous of your daughter's beautiful curls!

What a fun post about your parties. The Husbands' company doesn't do holiday parties that include spouses. I never thought I'd miss those, but I do. The contrast between the parties is so interesting. I find that in so many areas of my life lately... from PTO to Primary, etc!

That's a great shot of the two of you a few years back, bet you were even cuter this year!

Ah, the Pitt's. What happened to them?
Your kids look adorable and I love your yellow walls. Have I told you that already? You may have inspired me to do yellow. I need the name and brand of the color please.

And please tell me how to do a photo collage. Is it hard? Do I need some sort of special program that I don't have?

Your children are beautiful. I morn the fact that I will only have homogeneously dark featured children. Those blond curls are adorable.

Maybe next year St. Nicholas will remember that he controls the noise quotient and choose accordingly.

Have you ever put on nylons in the car? Wait, you probably had to for your skimpy Christmas party outfit - fun huh?

I'm dying to know where you got your earrings in that last photo. I have several thousand dollars lying around that I've been looking for the perfect use for and I think Harry Winston is just the ticket!

Choo-Choo! Love the train around your tree--St. Nick is very thoughtful, isn't he? I bet your kiddos are glued to the tree--or the floor as your picture shows. :)
