Lime Disease

So the bad news is that Luke's test came back positive. But the good news is that we caught it early. Amoxicillin three times a day for 21 days! Yikes. Luckily, this child loves taking medicine.

The doctor says he should be just fine and he is definitely acting healthier and up to all his old tricks already!

SuperOma is here and just having someone witness the chaos that is my life always makes me feel a little more sane. No...you really aren't going crazy...you just live in a zoo!

Lisa-Marie requested a Lyme Disease poem. But my heart is just not in it. Here is my lame attempt:

Ticks, ticks... they make you sick.

Please keep my little guy in your thoughts and prayers. And eat a slice of Key Lyme Pie in our honor!

Oh man, I'm really sorry! I'm glad that you guys caught it early and that it is treatable though.

Hang in there cute girl!

Gab, that's so sad! If there's anything to sweeten lime disease it's Oma. I hope you guys can tackle the chaos and enjoy a little company this week! Good luck. Wish I were there, Heed

I am sorry the test came back positive but as you said, so glad they caught it early. My girlfriend's little girl had a funny circle rash the other day and I insisted that she take her to the doctor. I was a little lyme disease paranoid.

Thanks for the poem and you have every right to not be feeling it. Hope that my request was not insensitive.

Take care! And YES, your family is in our prayers. Count me in!

That is absolutely amazing that he has it. It's so unusual and rarely caught this early! What a great ped you have.

Thank goodness for mother's intuition. YOU are the one that pushed them to see him, remember? YOU caught it early.

And after reading Oma's little post - sounds like it's a rip-roaring good time at the Gab household. Can't wait to see you all.

P.S. The twinks will sleep with you over thanksgiving, right? :-)

I'm so glad they caught that early. I'm adding him to my list of prayer people and you too. Hang in there and be glad you have Marty for your mom, she's a lifesaver.

So glad you caught it early and what a good thing that he's not a stinker about taking medicine!

Enjoy having Grandma around to make things better!

I'll keep little Luke in my prayers! Take care.

Do you just rub limes all over him? Is that how you fix it?

Oh, and I've had people tell me that (the Cameron Diaz) before. My husband always says, "You do look like her, even though I don't actually think Cameron Diaz is pretty." Hmmm...

Oh darn, I was hoping it was a false alarm. Good thing he likes meds or 21 days would be awfully long. We'll be thinking about you.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I am always a wreck when I have a sick child (even if it is just a cold). I'm so glad they caught it early. You are in my thoughts. It sounds like you have a ton of support.
