September is...

...one of my favorite months! Especially when the weather is mellow, gorgeous Indian summer like this weekend. Glorious for a little family road trip. Perfect for wearing t-shirts and jeans while walking in the woods. But just chilly enough to need a sweatshirt after dusk. Time to watch football and cheer your favorite college team to...um, a non-victory. Oh well...at least that cute new BYU sweatshirt is always a winner!

It's also a great time to...
drive around Chevy Chase and Kensington and all those other cool DC suburbs, taking photos of the beautiful homes. This is my kinda place!

Love the simple details and all the trees and of course the LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

This is pricey real estate around here...
but it's always fun to dream! It's a fun time to make a quick temple trip and see the visitor's center with the kids. (Kid #4 was very moved by the whole experience. His DVD request for the ride home? Curious George Goes to Jesus' Temple! Hmmm...don't think they've made that one, yet.)
Best part of the hotel stay is always the pool and hot tub!

Love those houses too. THey look so eastern. I also love fall for the same reasons. Maybe Curious George needs to get to the temple. As long as he doesn't then go putting inappropriate things up on the internet. You never know with that naughty little monkey......

Fun fun fun! I love DC. Before kids, we loved to drive up for the weekend to attend the temple and just enjoy the city. It's so beautiful! Looks like you had a blast. All kids need for a great vacation is a hotel with a pool. Make your dh start taking pics with you in them! :-)

Hey Girl, my advice for your upcoming IEP is to meet individually with each person before the meeting. This way there aren't any surprises and you can kind of tweek what people are going to say in the meeting. This way you can also bring things up that they tell you privately that they wouldn't say in front of their boss. This has helped me so much over the years to get the help I need for Davis.

Good Luck!

Fun trip! My kids are the same way--the highlight of the trip is always swimming in the hotel pool. We go places and there are so many cool things to do, but they can't wait to get back to the hotel!

Beautiful houses. Beautiful temple. And I love that one of your boys asked about Curious George goes to the temple. What a crack up!
Here in CA we don't get the seasons like you easterners- I visited my BF in Boston almost exactly 2 years ago and thought it was beautiful...sure nice weather is great year-around, but there's something special about the changing of the seasons.
